I've been into wines for many years, have a large, varied collection, and have been accused frequently of making great choices. For some reason though, no matter how much time I spend drinking and learning about wines, all the analytical subtleties and jargon still seem to elude me. I just recognize good wine.

So what am I leading up to? This Viura has become one of my favorite whites, and not because of the low price, although that certainly enhances the pleasure. Yeah, I get all the varietal comparisons, but instead, just think it is refreshingly distinct. I could go on about how I like its acidity, unusual fruit, minerality, and lack of oakiness, etc., but am simply offering an alternate perspective for those who, based on the review alone, might be scared away from trying this delightful wine.
