Kept the 2007 Riesling in the wine cellar for a few years and paired it with a woodfired trout....very nice.
A bit of a sting to the comments, paid less than $6 a bottle..

went to a restaurant here in England and paid 21pounds!! for a bottle of the 2007 dry riesling so should you worry about 11 dollars? I think not. Nothing to rave about either with a strange unappetizing aroma.

@Anne figured yours would be more expensive in Costa Rica but shocked @Cindy is paying $4 more at TJ's in Boston. I'll have to double check my price point next time I visit. I've heard of $1 or maybe $2 differences but $4 seems extreme...

Well, it's a shame. I own a restaurant called Ginger in Costa Rica, and this is the first time that Chateau Ste. Michelle has been available here (thank you CAFTA...) My food is Asian Fusion, lots of spice and flavor, and this should have been the perfect wine for it, but I guess I got a bad batch, because several of the bottles were just terrible. Thankfully, the distributor took it all back, and it's now off my wine list, although I kept the Ste. Michelle Gewurztraminer, which I really like.
Thanks for the comments, though.

I agree whole-heartedly with Jason on this Riesling from the large Chateau Ste. Michelle winery.

This has to be one of the best deals of all time. I noticed recently though TJ's increased it from $5.99 to $6.99 (at least in the SF Bay Are). Still doesn't break the bank, but I think people are catching on... this one is a $15 value for 50% off!

I don't drink this solo (too sweet). But it pairs perfectly with spicy dishes like Chicken Curry.

Oh, also, regardless of Vay-ner-chuk, I like it COLD, very COLD. man, it's good. Almost a substitute for a beer (almost) on a warm California evening.

(side note: Jason, are you attending the wine Blogger's conference next month in Sonoma... let us know!)
