The '08 is great, definitely a bulk buy. I've had 3 bottles of it so far. I've found it needs decant before drinking, opens up nicely. I expect this wine to improve with a little time in the bottle. I'm on my way over to pick up a second case.

It's here in the bay area. We got it in the Castro valley store 3 days ago. We had a tasting yesterday. Very good. I liked this one better then last years. I've heard that each store it supposed to only get 48 cases. Well enjoy.

@Danny Awesome news. From Avoid it to Bulk Buy in one vintage, don't call it a comeback! As for the TJ Petite Sirah I agree with you, nothing there worth seeing

@Angela Guessing it must be headed this way soon based on Danny's sighting...

The 2008 Rabbit Ridge, Paso Robles, Allure de Robles, Rhone Style Red Wine @ $4.99 showed up at the TJ's in Irvine at Culver & Walnut this past week. I found the 2008 so much better than the pour-down -the-drain 2007 version. The 2008 is a lush and toasty fruit bomb with well integrated aromas and flavors of cherry, sweet tobacco, briary spearmint, lavender, spice and mineral. IMHO, it's a Bulk Buy.

I also tried the 2008 TJ Petite Sirah, 76% Organic @ $4,99. Dense Purple color. Blueberries on the nose with one dimensional, flat tastes of cedar, minerals and very faint fruit. Disappointing. Rating: Skip It.

Good Hunting!

Hey all,

I just heard from the winemaker, Erich Russell, that the '08 vintage will be hitting the shelves soon. Here is what he had to say:

<ul><em>"Look for the 2008 Allure de Robles in Trader Joe's soon. The wine was picked up yesterday. The good news is that there is way less alcohol 14.8 instead of 15.3 on the 2007. There are less harsh tannins making the wine even more balanced. This vintage has been the fastest selling vintage around the United States of any Allure de Robles. There is very little Petite Sirah in this vintage and much more Grenache. The very bad news is that since this wine was selling so fast around the country Trader Joes will be getting about 25% less than the 2007."</em></ul>

Be on the lookout, I know I will!

Love the site. I work at a local TJs and love a lot of the wines we carry. I was looking through our back stock and found a case and a half of this rabbit ridge. I got 3 bottles and cant wait to try. if anyone is interested ask for it at the castro valley tjs.

@Jim I wouldn't expect the '08 to be on the shelves yet given the 2007 just hit stores recently. Did you see it/pick up a bottle somewhere?
