Just went to get MORE Zarafa Sauvignon Blanc 2009 at Trader Joe’s and it’s discontinued! Hate that!

I tried one bottle – it was only $4 – I couldn’t go wrong – You can always use it for cooking, right?

Wife liked it; I liked it. Bought 3 more before they sell out.

Very enjoyable and drinkable.

@Peter glad to hear you liked it! @Connectr I actually bought the Zafrika SB thinking they altered the label for this one. I've yet to try it but thanks for steering me clear of the Pinotage. As for the Third Century, I'm not a Chard fan but funny enough my two cases of Chariot Gypsy came home in those boxes. I'll definitely grab a bottle next time. Your last two are resident Top 10 members, both of which I am a fan! Thanks so much for the comment. Keep'em coming my way!

A couple of quick comments based upon your choices (and some of ours):
The Zafrika Pinotage – minerally. Leave it in store.
The Beringer 3rd Century Chardonnay – buy it
The King Shag Sauvignon Blanc – buy a case!
“flying pig” Tempranillo – good, but not great

Having some of the Sauvignon Blanc at a home fish fry as I write this. Nice. This wine travelled a long way to make my meal taste even better. I’m no expert, but I know I’m enjoying it. The price was right too.

@Don Interesting on the funkiness. I’ve tried a few of the TJ’s Venas Chilenas and was not impressed. Perhaps I’ll consider giving this one a chance sometime soon…

Mostly agree with your notes here, but I must have had the 2008 vintage and detected just a hint of funkiness. Still great value. A sauvignon blanc that I think is even better at this price is the Trader Joe’s Venas Chilenas Reserva.

lol, agree no such thing as too easy but this is a slam dunk. If I liked it this much during the “winter” (I’m in CA) I can only imagine how it might taste sitting in the sunshine on the patio…

You got another winner this time. A really interesting, fresh wine, everyday wine that is almost too easy on the wallet (OK not possible).
