Marc Goldsmith
Marc is an actor and writer living the dream just outside of Los Angeles. Okay, so maybe he doesn’t sleep at night and the dream… well… it’s a bit haunting right now… which is why he drinks wine!
Marc started his career in the wine game working at the famed LA wine shop, The Duke of Bourbon… many stories to tell… many, many stories… The best thing that came out of all of that was a superior wine knowledge and lasting relat ionships with several wine makers and chefs, which Marc maintains to this day! Marc has created wine lists for restaurants and private clients and has been the Special Event Sommelier for the Lili Claire Foundation’s Annual Dinner and Silent Auction for the last 11 years and running. Marc also helped name Rosenthal’s second label of wines, Surfrider and is proud at the fact that money from each bottle is donated to The Surfrider Foundation.
He blogs at Marc’s Muse, which runs the gamut from music and movie reviews and general musings to food and wine critiques. He also affectionately calls himself the “Human Zagat!” He is currently going through the Wine Spectator’s On Line Classes and just might blog about that, too.
Eric Cohen
When he is not blogging about all manner of subjects wine related, Eric Cohen spends his days wearing many hats. These include but are not limited to making sure that Waugh Cellars and Six Degrees hum along successfully, being a good dad to sons, Bennett & Joss, a dashing husband to wife, Linda, as well as various other domestic chores like hitting Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s to provide sustenance to said family, emptying the dishwasher and loading the washing machine at least once a day.
R.J. Hilgers
R. J. is what some refer to as a “citizen blogger” – someone who works full time outside the wine industry and is blogging at home in their spare time, simply because they have the passion and interest to do so. For R.J., the point of writing about wine isn’t to be categorical (“Best sub $20 wines”), regional (“Bourdeaux vs. Red Mountain) or otherwise pigeonholed…it’s just one guy’s opinion about the wine world and the wines he has tasted. Some he’ll like, some he won’t. Some are inexpensive, some he’ll be embarrassed to tell you how much they cost. Everything comes with a grain of salt. He’s not a professional and he encourages your recommendations, looking to learn as much from you as you might from him. After all, wine is not about ratings, hype, price, or what others like…it’s about what you like and you can only find that out through exploration. He blogs at RJ’s Wine Blog and can be reached at rj at rjswineblog dot com or on Twitter: @rjswineblog.
Jason Rzutkiewicz
Jason enjoys exploring the world of wine, a new varietal or region lies around every corner. He views the wine world as a treasure hunt for grown-ups. This often leads him to the Trader Joe’s wine aisle where he can assess the latest finds to search for nuggets. He has no credentials and doesn’t claim to. Jason describes himself as a “professional consumer”. He’s just sharing what he liked, didn’t or loved and lessons he is learning along the way. In doing so, he hopes to help all filter through the masses of wines to find those that deliver tremendous value to the wallet and the palate. So next time you head out to Trader Joe’s grab his latest Top 10 list and if you feel so inclined leave it in the aisle for the person behind you when you are done. Jason can be reached via email at jason at jasonswineblog dot com or on twitter: @jasonswineblog. Last but not least, Jason wants you to know when he watching hoops, he’s usually drinking beers, but there is always wine on the table at dinner…
